SAMHSA Building Communities of Recovery

The HUB Initiative

Housing, Uplift & Belonging

Recovery takes more than treatment. It takes a safe place to live, a way to earn, a ride to your appointments, and people in your corner. HUB brings all of that together at our Recovery Resource Center in Roseville for adults across Macomb County — and for the families who love them.

What HUB Is

Three Things Every Recovery Needs

HUB is built around the barriers we see every day: nowhere stable to live, no income, and no one to lean on. Each part of the program goes after one of them.

Housing

A safe, sober place to live is where recovery gets its footing. We help you find a bed and keep it.

  • Recovery housing navigation
  • 13 certified Live Rite recovery homes
  • Homes that welcome people on MAT
About recovery housing

Uplift

Work, skills, and a way to get around. We help you build the income and independence that make recovery last.

  • Job placement through Nu-Way Staffing
  • Certifications in the trades, food service & more
  • Rides and bus passes to get where you need to go
About work & training

Belonging

Nobody does this alone. Your peer coach has walked this road too, and our center is a place where you're known by name.

  • A certified peer recovery coach of your own
  • Recovery meetings, groups & community events
  • Coaching for parents, partners & family
Support for families
How It Works

There's No Wrong Door

However you find us, you end up in the same place: sitting down with a peer coach who helps you figure out what you need first.

Walking in on your own Hospitals & ERs Treatment centers Courts, probation & parole Recovery homes Employers Community organizations
1

Come In or Get Referred

Call, walk in, or have someone who's helping you send you our way.

2

Meet Your Peer Coach

A short intake to understand where you are, what's in the way, and what can't wait.

3

Build Your Plan

Within a week, you and your coach write a recovery plan around your goals, not ours.

4

Check In Every Week

For the first 90 days you'll review your plan together weekly, then as often as you need.

5

Stay Connected

Finishing the program doesn't mean we disappear. Follow-up continues as long as you want it.

Services

Everything Under One Roof

Our 14,000-square-foot Recovery Resource Center is where it all happens. Your plan decides which of these you use — take what helps, skip what doesn't.

Peer Recovery Coaching

One-on-one coaching from a state-certified coach with lived experience, who helps you set goals and work through the system.

Case Management

Help applying for Medicaid, SNAP, Social Security, TANF, disability and other benefits, plus coordinating with your providers.

Transportation

Rides in agency vehicles and bus passes for treatment, doctor visits, court, job interviews, and meetings.

Telehealth Room

Five private cubicles for virtual court hearings, psychiatric and doctor appointments, with staff nearby if you need a hand.

On-Site Medical Care

The Michigan Recovery Mobile Unit visits weekly with MOUD, wound care, screenings, and immunizations.

Life Skills & Education

Classes that build confidence and practical tools for the everyday challenges of life in recovery.

Overdose Prevention

Narcan training and naloxone, including a vending machine at the center that's open 24/7.

Quitting Tobacco

Support and resources whenever you decide you're ready to quit smoking or vaping.

Treatment Connections

Warm handoffs to detox, residential, outpatient and MOUD providers — we make the call with you, not for you.

Meetings & Support Groups

Recovery meetings, groups, and community events at the center throughout the week.

Worried about cost? HUB services are for people who are uninsured, underinsured, or whose insurance doesn't cover recovery support. We'll help you sort out coverage first and fill in the gaps.
Housing

A Safe Place to Land

Almost everyone who walks through our doors is homeless or close to it. Live Rite has run recovery homes in Macomb County for more than a decade, and HUB's housing navigators help you find the right fit — whether that's one of ours or a partner's.

  • Help finding and applying for recovery housing
  • Coordination with MCOSA for housing referrals
  • Short-term housing help through ACCESS
  • Homes that support medication-assisted treatment

A Paycheck and a Path

Our workforce program, Nu-Way Staffing, starts with an assessment of your skills, work history, and what's been getting in the way. Together you'll write an employment plan with short- and long-term goals — then we help you hit them.

80% of Nu-Way participants get and keep a job within 15 days of enrolling. Another 10% build experience through internships.

If someone you love is struggling, you don't have to wait for them to be ready to get help yourself. Family Recovery Coaching gives parents, partners, and caregivers practical ways to communicate, set boundaries, and look after themselves — skills that also make it more likely your loved one will choose treatment.
